Oh I’m so very tempted. She’ll never tour on the UK & I loved this album…..

Did seeing Torvill & Dean skate the Bolero live again make me a bit emotional? Maybe 🥹
April 13, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Spent my Sunday afternoon watching Torvill & Dean skate on their final tour. Begging my parents for tickets to their 1994 tour is still a big childhood memory. Shame it was just me there today, but I’m glad I went. They’ll always be the greatest to me!

Just opened the incredible #Succession complete soundtrack collection from
Nicholas Britell
which has been waiting for me at my parents! And it’s gorgeous!! 🥰🎼🎶

Can’t imagine life without experiencing live theatre, more so since lockdown took it away. I’ve seen so many incredible shows, actors, learnt about new worlds, true stories, vital topics & met lifelong friends. Here’s 2025 highlights & a couple all-timers too! 🎭#WorldTheatreDay

Saw the fantastic Animal Farm @stratfordeast.com at the weekend. It’s now at Leeds Playhouse & will then be at the Nottingham Playhouse in April. Highly recommend you go if you can!

We should all listen to Mrs Brown, just like Paddington. #London

1st person into the auditorium tonight/last night @NationalTheatre so couldn’t resist taking a photo of the completely empty theatre space. Gorgeous. ❤️🎭

Fabulous final theatre performance of The Importance of Being Earnest tonight! So so glad I booked a second trip. Such a joyous show. Plus added bonus tonight of Jonathan Bailey sitting in the row in front of me! Great to see no one bothered him on his private time either.

Nearly 81% correct and 240 out of nearly 8,000 people? I’ll take that! Recommend the Awards Expert app if you like to try and predict for fun / keep track of the film awards races #Oscars

So, probably the shortest list of nominees I still need to try & see before the #Oscars  to have seen every nominee. It’ll be the shorts that do me in. It’s always tough to see those.

Just seen & enjoyed this film. Some decent performances throughout the cast, some solid battle sequences for its budget, great score. Dialogue at times didn’t work for me, but overall an entertaining watch #WilliamTell

Saw #Babygirl today. It won’t be everyone’s cup of milk, but it worked for me! uncomfortable in places but surely that’s the point when taking a serious look at power dynamics & different sexual desires. Loved how it was shot & paced, how it held the tension, great music & 2 superb performances.

In light of the Nolan / The Odyssey news, did anyone else own this on VHS as a kid in the 1980s?!

Found #SingSing even more moving 2nd watch. The vulnerability the men allow themselves to express to one another, in such a harsh place, shows the power of theatre & art in life & being front row for Q&A with lovely Colman Domingo was special. I hope to see him in theatre 1 day.

Saw #ACompleteUnknown plus fascinating Q&A with director/writer/producer James Mangold! Fantastic film & I’m not someone who knows about Bob Dylan in detail. Timothee Chalamet is superb. He sings, he plays guitar & harmonica (all live on set too) & he really brought Dylan to life

It took me a bit of time to get in to this play, which I think was the case the last time I saw it years ago, but I was so invested by the end. Excellent cast, but Lennie James steals the show for me. Loved the similar atmosphere to Rebecca Frecknall’s Summer & Smoke too.

Updated my theatre spreadsheet & David Tennant has extended his lead as the actor I’ve seen on stage the most! Honestly, with theatre costing more now, I don’t see anyone ever catching him! Roll on the next show DT!

Preview of the Crown Jewel of BBC’s Christmas Day TV - Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl! Plus Q&A with the genius Nick Park plus the animator & actor Reece Shearsmith! The film is perfect. One of the most enthusiastic cinema screenings I’ve been to in some time. Loved it! 👏

3rd & final curtain call with cast & crew of Macbeth on their final West End night! Lovely to spend a David Tennant final theatre night with friends I only know because of him! Oh and top marks to Cush Jumbo for her DT T-shirt!

I try and see all the films in awards contention before Oscars night. But the adapted screenplay category is always one I can’t form a real opinion on. Going to try & change that this season. Time to get reading & starting with the books of 3 films I really like!

So #TheGreatComet at Donmar Warehouse is certainly worlds apart from the NYC show, which for me was a very good thing. Period costume replaced with a modern, part rave, part Eurovision, part rock concert vibe! The vocal talent is damn good & I was far more engaged here. Won’t be for everyone though.

Rewatching 1883. Easily one of the very best miniseries I’ve ever watched. It’s just superb #1883TV

Saw #TheBrutalist today & blimey that’s an incredible film. Lived up to expectations. Adrien Brody is sensational in this. Surely the Oscar frontrunner. Felicity Jones is excellent, as is Guy Pearce. It felt vast & like a film from a past era rediscovered. It also flew by despite the long run time.
