I never said it always ends badly. Just that every poly relationship I've personally known has (discounting swingers or other exclusively-for-sex ones)
November 28, 2025 at 6:47 AM
2026 is going to suck worse for the first few months but the increasing indications of a blue wave will make it slightly better. Dems outperforming the polls and shitstomping the GOP in november will be a nice cherry on top.

Didn’t this movie already come out and leave theaters?

If the integrity of the can is intact then it’s probably fine

I think for some people polyamory can probably work but every direct story I've heard about it has been worse than a nightmare.

Okay so the entire industry is dogpiling her, the magazine she worked for has issued a personal apology to everybody she wrote articles on and a public apology, and major journalistic outfits are formally condemning the entire affair, right

Right?

Parts of the online world have been insisting you’re a terrible person if you’re not regularly consuming child snuff films and it turns out doing that is actually a terrible fucking idea

Winning by 15 as the Democrat in NYC is also a terrible performance. Eric Adams won by nearly 40.
November 26, 2025 at 7:37 PM
The Dem Minority leader in the house and the Dem Governor of NY both endorsed him.

Mamdani was overwhelmingly supported by the Democratic party, which actually consists of more people than just Chuck Schumer.

A lot of people seem to believe this but it’s not true at all: Hochul endorsed him, the DNC was fully supportive, even Jeffries endorsed him in the end
He won a majority *with the entire dem party rooting against him the entire time*. Twat.
Also, when you say people saying "Dems would win everywhere with a Mamdani-style platform," I think it's important to remember that that platform delivered the most charismatic candidate in recent history a whopping 50.4% of the vote against a street vigilante and actual vampire, in New York City

Cuomo was a heavyweight champion who was forced out. This is like saying Jake Paul is a fantastic boxer because "he beat Mike Tyson" while leaving out the fact that Tyson was in his 50s at the time.
November 26, 2025 at 7:32 PM
How does that null hypothesis change when you look at past election results in NYC and know that Mamdani was the Dem candidate?

Most Americans could probably stand to drink more water!

Also to some extent increasing housing costs were a major driver of inflation, weren’t they? Like if you looked at the breakdowns they were a huge contributing factor?
November 26, 2025 at 1:17 AM
It’s higher than CPI according to the BLS calculator thing.
November 26, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Denver is definitely a fairly high cost metro though, and the average rent went from ~$1500 to ~$1850ish from 2020 to 2023. Isn’t that kind of a housing crisis?
November 26, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Panpsychism is a relatively coherent theory too, and if you believe in it ChatGPT is conscious - but so are rocks and shit so whatever.
November 26, 2025 at 12:58 AM
I mean denver also has a housing crisis? Like it’s partially handled now because we got some cool YIMBY shit passed and rent went down but 2020-2023 it was skyrocketing.

It's always a faux pas to say "actually you don't have it that bad" but the internet has hypercharged this to where if you suggest that society may have in any way improved you're a bootlicking billionaire-fellating class traitor.

The world will not snap back to normal after Democrats win an election. How do I know? Because they won in 2020 and the world only continued to go more floridly insane. We need to address the root cause of the insanity, which is the complete epistemological collapse we are living through.
