To my knowledge, Logics of History has only one edition, published in 2005. (No other is listed on Sewell's CV.) The final, still incorrect quote ('is' should be 'was') is still misattributed. It is actually in the section 'The Political Unconscious of Social and Cultural history'.

Actually, elected officials have an obligation to risk their lives to defend democracy. Sorry man, but being elected gives someone more responsibility, not less.
The "Do Something Now" crowd wants politicians to take a bullet for them, while they cower on social media. They will demand others to throw their lives away to perfect democracy, but they won't.

If you've never read anything by Yarvin, it's hard to really explain how profoundly, immensely, incomprehensibly stupid the man is. And what that says about the average idiot who cites him as an influence.

Out in the wilderness, Yarvin delved into recondite history and economics texts, many of them newly accessible through Google Books. I think the comment about nice people never going Nazi is wrong. Nice isn't good. And the character sketches of those who never go Nazi seem a bit too elitist for my taste. My never Nazis are all socialists. But I have certainly met Messrs. J, G, C, and B and perhaps a Ms. E.
It's fun-a macabre sort of fun-this parlor game of "Who Goes Nazi?" And it simplifies things-asking the question in regard to specific personalities. Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi. They may be the gentle philosopher whose name is in the Blue Book, or Bill from City College to whom democracy gave a chance to design airplanes-you'll never make Nazis out of them. But the frustrated and humiliated intellectual, che rich and scared speculator, the spoiled son, the labor tyrant, the fellow who has achieved success by smelling out the wind of success-they would all go Nazi in a criSIS. Believe me, nice people dont go Nazi. Their race, color, creed, or social condition is not the criterion. It is something in them. Those who haven't anything in them to tell them what they like and what they don'- whether it is breeding, or happiness, or wisdom, or a code, however old-fashioned or however modern, go Nazi. It's an amusing game. Try it at the next big arty you go to.

Yarvin's idiotic babbling follows: The first thing we notice about Rawls is the title of his famous book, A Theory of Justice. As I've mentioned before, this is not just hubristic, but actively Orwellian. For about the last 2500 years, the word justice and its various Indo-European predecessors have meant "the accurate execution of the law:" Raws is no more interested in law than I am in dressage, and when he redefines the word justice to mean, effectively, righteousness, one notes with some dismay that he is confiscating a noun with no existing synonyms. But perhaps this was the publisher's decision-maybe A Theory of Righteousness just wouldn't have moved as well.

I am sure Dr Hill appreciates how in Kalenjin, as in English, omitting certain letters, for example the from hominoid, can dramatically alter the sense. Monique Borgerhoff Mulder (born between 9 and 10 a.m. when the goats go out, also known as Chemngeno) Tabarit village, PO Gorgor, Sotik, Kericho, Kenya Spellbound SIR-Your correspondent Monique Mul- der (Nature 20 June, p.626), claiming some knowledge of the Kalenjin languages, suggests I misspelt the name of my colleague John Kimengich, as the spelling deviates from her bovine concept of its etymology. This is something over which we could argue until the cows come home, but in general I make it a rule to spell people's names in accordance with their own practice and not to worry unduly over conjectured derivation and meaning. As your correspondent would have us believe that one of her names is "Borgerhoff", I commend this principle to her as one she would be well advised to encourage.
