I think I got the date wrong on that cover then. How is the review available then? I read a translated long form piece they did on it but no score.

Stories in general are overrated, especially in games. The real issue is that Ubisoft forgo story for absolutely mid-tier gameplay everywhere.

As someone who has decided to just expect bad things from most remakes, I want more actual remasters.

Just give me the original game with it's design philosophy and art direction intact, but scaleable on new systems. That's all I want.

And then, despite talking about them as products, your book was one of the few that talked about them as a material process. So we're not even very committal to that mode of thinking.

While in gaming, with tiny exceptions, you get so little talk with regards to the people behind actual game development themselves and especially with regards to their contrasting philosophies on making games.

For me this is the actual barrier to games becoming art. We talk about them as products.

There are loads of differences between games and films when it comes to the industry and industry perspective/critique, and in pretty much all cases I prefer how it's handled in film.

Nobody, who cares about movies, gives a shit about CEOs when it comes to films in most cases. Just negative ones.
