Egg cracked Oct 23, ‘24. Trapped somewhere between what they see, what I need, what might be and what most likely won’t, the inevitable and the impossible. Looking for me. (She/her (us - plural?)) #teamAnnie #professionalWetBlanket

Machines make mistakes.

In 1983, 5 nuclear missiles from the United States were headed towards the USSR.

Stanislav Petrov had this information. It was his job to inform superiors who would launch a counterstrike.

It was the start of what would have been the Last War.

He pressed X to doubt.

So it turns out this is my one year tranniversary. Hard to believe, really.

Thanks to @pengarr.postes.club and @synapsid.bsky.social for tolerating egg me and welcoming me into the fold.

I didn’t accomplish a ton, but I made it this far. Onward and upward. :)

frustrating to have been, as a community, speaking up about the far-right radicalisation vector that is transphobia — and specifically the communities that form around transphobia — and to have been ignored, only for cis people finally to notice when their guy expands his hatred to cover more groups

Interviewed with a place that listed “big data and analytics” as being among the responsibilities of the position. They track about 20K events per year. You could run their entire operation out of Excel.

inside every bill and law banning or restricting trans participation in sports, there is language that overall restricts the rights of trans people in general, as well as cis people in myriad ways we never seem to debate

& until that reality is grappled with,

“sports fairness” is an open door.

if a politician is willing to cede ground on trans athletes, it is just the reality of the policies involved that it means there’s an open door to ceding ground on other civil rights for targets of discrimination

So wait if I incorporate “Trans Right Are Human Rights” into my tag border I’ll be poisoning any model that scrapes me?
Trump's new executive order about AI states that companies' models must not incorporate the idea that trans people exist as a concept. Seems bad.

a lot of trans women are not actually socialized male but socialized doormat and some of them when accused of male privilege will instantly go into their trained cPTSD response of fawning and being apologetic for existing and taking up a modicum of space.
this is, of course, all done for the purpose of beating trans women into submission and making us apologize for even existing.

To reiterate what I said about this in 2021, I will never apologize for who I am, and I shouldn't be fucking expected to.

Firstly, her threads are always good, go read.

But the point I want to harp on here, is that unsheltered people is a problem, a rare problem, that has an EASY FUCKING FIX.

Money, housing, social support.

But it's a RARE PROBLEM that you can literally throw money at and LARGELY fix, which...rare
It is really staggering how many homeless people there are in the United States.

And people have the awful attitudes screenshotted in the thread I’m tweeting without any sense for the crisis that is the combination of low wages + ridiculous housing prices.
it's just the equivalent of every single person from birth to death in camden, nj or canton, oh or willimington, de being homeless, is how many homeless people there are in la county is all
