My personality is that I know things.
What's annoying about the Dem cave is it does/did look like there were enough Rs (MTG and a few swing-district Rs) to pass an ACA extension in the House and in the context of the shutdown, maybe a few moderate Rs could be swayed with some slight changes. But now there's really no incentive....

I love how billionaires are telling us simultaneously that we need to have children or are doomed as a society AND that AI is going to take all of our jobs. And also actually that they are trillionaries now.

As a small-biz owner in a creative industry, the AI-ification of all of my apps is really getting annoying. The AI stuff actually distracts me and gets in the way of my productivity. I don't want to AI everything, just let me send a damn e-mail!

This SC ruling is really, really bad. The US is basically a police state now. To other Latinos who voted for Trump, this is what you get: Law enforcement harassment just because you are brown and speak Spanish. Maybe you're white passing, but are your parents? Your family members?

Fellow Coloradans, the Rocky Ford melons this year are 🤤. Fair warning, eat them over the sink or in a bowl. They are incredible juicy this year.

If you're like me, a person with a job who gets their health insurance through Obamacare, you really got screwed today. The Trump tax cuts are skewed to the rich. Most middle class folks only save maybe $100-$400 annually on taxes. Meanwhile, Biden's ACA subsidies provided $700+ to premiums.

Very sad you hear about the death of Peter David. Loved his work on X-Factor and he did some great movie novelezations as well. RIP.
Peter David wrote all my favorite Hulk comics when I was a kid. Then, years later, presumably not knowing that I was a fan, he showed up at a book signing of mine to wait in line and give me a signed copy of one of HIS books! Baller move. RIP to one of the greats.

No person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

Nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law

ANY PERSON. Not "citizen."

AOC needs to be the new Dem leader. We need a real opposition party.
AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

Counterintuitive, but: this will crush the US wine industry. Booze gets to market on distributors' trucks. These fleets need volume to run efficiently. Subtract EU wine from the equation & it no longer pencils out. Any gains from less competition would likely be paid back out in margin loss.
Hope y'all have stockpiled your grand cru and brandy

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

Any CO friends, I urge you to call senators Hickenlooper: 303-244-1628 and Michael Bennet (www.bennet.senate.gov/contact/) to vote NO on the CR currently in the Senate until there are safeguards to prevent the illegal and unconstitutional actions of DOGE against the federal government.

It's hard to believe Elon Musk is real and not concocted as a stereotypical comic book villian by a slightly imaginative 12 year old. Even the name.

This is the goal of Trump, Musk and the rest of his billionaire pals: To throw out legitimate worker contracts and make us all into their serfs. We have to fight back now before it's too late.
This, today, is a real crisis. Recognize that this is not just about 50,000 TSA workers. This is about the very existence of union power in America -
Strike, or Else

Crime in Denver is down to pre-pandemic levels in most categories including murder despite an influx of 40,000+ immigrants. The same is true in our neighbor Aurora as well. www.denverpost.com/2025/02/09/d...
Denver saw declines in homicides and shootings in 2024 — but domestic violence surged
The increase in domestic violence bucks a broader trend of declining and flat crime: Denver’s violent crime — sex assaults, robberies, murders and aggravated assaults — stayed almost flat in 2024.…

Is traditional supply/demand economics broken? Are these billionaires so rich that they are willing to tank the economy to get tax cuts? Like that is worth more to them then having depressed consumer spending in a recession?
