If I could go back to my novice self, I'd tell her to just have one tiny sketchbook for ideas, and keep it on her at all times. Ideas get lost if you try to take a mental note, or rely on a phone picture, or have too many sketchbooks lying around! #kidlitchat

The best advice I've gotten as an illustrator was to not chase perfection.
"Every spread doesn't have to be perfect" - in the sense that perfect doesn't exist, and you burn precious time trying to reach it. For me, this mantra relieves some of the pressure of an project as big as a PB. #kidlitchat
