Yes, in general child care facilities keep all outer doors closed and locked. I have my own guesses, but since details are still emerging I feel it's unwise to speculate on how they got in.

Children this young aren't explicitly told about the threat of active shooters -- but American child care centers do still do lockdown drills. Hopefully they can adapt them to protect themselves against ICE kidnappings. Horrific that it's come to this.

Terrorizing everyday people is the entire point. Those kids (and staff) might never feel safe at school again. Anyone who tries to justify this is a fascist ghoul who should be cast out of society forever. Jesus fucking Christ.

Even if they weren't lying (they are) it's still no excuse. She's a suspect in a civil/nonviolent offense? You have the plate, make, & model of her car, run it for an address. Know where she works? Wait outside. Don't BUST ARMED INTO A DAYCARE AND KIDNAP A TEACHER IN FRONT OF HER STUDENTS.
