Haven't been on Bluesky for a while, so I am yet to share some highlights from previous weeks.

Here's the 70-minute long interview I gave to the amazing Ian Tennant, honoured to be part of his great channel InnerSense.

We touched on hype, AI, magic, capital, and more...

Critical AI scholars! Stop anything you're doing. Baudrillard got us covered since 1999.

AND Pynchon's Inherent Vice for I've got only 30 pages left and I'm so hyped about finishing all of his books before Shadow Ticket in October.

1-hour delay expected for my flight to Barca for our @hypestudies.bsky.social conf.
Perhaps too optimistically prepared, but have with me, among the usual random book selection, a colleague's paper to read, PhD student draft, two book proposals and a paper to review + handbook for module I'll tutor

Meanwhile, it's still #BandcampFriday so you can still support artists even more directly and show how cool you are by rejecting Spotify or YouTube for your musical explorations. My greatest fear of course is about the day Bandcamp will be bought by OpenAI but I hope that day never comes.

Hi. My Thursday reminder for y'all.

To have a hard copy of @kasparrosager.bsky.social's Doctoral Thesis is a privilege. To be acknowledged in it a blessing. To have it with a personal dedication is a rare experience that makes one reconsider the values of "to have" and "I." Here's to an eternity of Fibonacci sequenced conversations!

It's still #BandcampFriday (another 6 hours!) if you prefer supporting artists instead of military-funding megalomaniacs for your musical journeys. Plus Bandcamp playlists can now be set to public and I will soon be posting some of my own curations.

It's the first time I encounter this symbol. Is it a combined anarchy sign plus V for Vendetta (and general Alan Moore sign as per Swamp Thing) plus a masonic square and set of compasses?

And more - this I will call 'Icecream Descending a Staircase'

This was certainly expected, yet simply confirms the misery of our internet world. Anything cool about the web was a mere bait lasting for 10-15 years, a break between the initial development of ML algorithms and their current use, after sufficient data collection and infrastructural entrenchment.

Now, I'm very hyped!

Hello Bristol.

Nice, I've got my Capital Vol III from the same Progress Publishers, unbeatable (missing the dust jacket now but will replace it once I finish the final 400 pages left!)

Sounds like a Springer or T&F post-review discount

Honoured to share one of the many panels of The Computer in Motion symposium within the #ICHST2025 with Mar Hicks (@histoftech.bsky.social), Ksenia Tatarchenko, and Alexandre Hocquet. Grateful to organisers Barbara Hof, Arianna Borrelli, and Elisabetta Mori for putting together this great gathering.

Finally got copy of The Precarious Migrant Worker, written by my pal Panos Theodoropoulos - it's going to be a great summertime read as these times are treacherous and solidarity and mutual aid structures are needed more than ever.

This song/poem by Linton Kwesi Johnson could make an excellent soundtrack if a film was made after David Noble's Religion of Technology or Erik Davies's Techgnosis.

Exciting first (out of six!) panel on The Computer in Motion - being a special #ICHST2025 Symposium organised by #HaPoC. Exciting talks on ancient Chinese computers and computation's relationship to language and material expressions, VAX and UNIX smuggling, and the 1982 Lax Report on supercomputers.

In and out two parallel sessions at #ICHST2025 - one about women in quantum physics is fantastic but stricken by sound issues so only joining for the illuminating q&a; the other one on astronomical knowledge exchange in China and Tibet - a travel into timespace from my living room!
