Yesterday I returned to riding 🚑 after a 4 month hiatus. It was a hard push at times, but I’m 2 months ahead on my Achilles rehab with aggressive pt and adding strength training. Since injury I’ve hiked 28k steps on trails multiple times. I can’t thank my partner enough. May this year be awesome!🤘🎉💪

Big day today. I spoke at the regional VA teaching gender affirming care to ALL clinicians. It’s wild thinking back. As a vet who served under “don’t ask don’t tell” I couldn’t be out or I wouldn’t have VA care now. Now I’ve taught clinicians to better care for LGBTQ2IA folks—we can be ourselves.🌈💕🤘

I felt it tonight. My fit was on point. Saw one of my favorite comics and she rocked it. The yahoo by me wouldn’t leave me alone, mansplained tattoos. The comic added us in her bit. He misgendered me yet said my name. The comic asked my pronouns and it ended poorly for him. Moral: Don’t be a dick.💅

My exterior has changed. The person inside has not. I love who I am. I have learned to accept who I am. I hope some day that all of the people I love will accept me, too. This is why in the queer community chosen/found family is sooooo important. We deserve love and respect. We are valid. 💕

Wow it’s a whirlwind. Interviewing a candidate for vice dean, teaching at grand rounds, shaping a M3 year curriculum for gender diversity, leading a workshop at the VA. This is wild stuff so I still pinch myself to see if it’s really happening. The future is bright!🌈💕
