Habitat for Humanity won't help.

Trades Course at YU won't help.

Social Assistance won't help.

Insurance is wasting weeks bickering over a "Wind Exclusion".

If you have anything you can spare, we really appreciate it. We're poor & disabled in the Yukon; winter is here, we need a snow-proof roof.

Everything is terrible, but it's the best day of the year.

Mr scrounged up change, and we were able to get me a pumpkin this year.

Turned out pretty good, if not quite as I'd hoped, given hand injury, lol.

Here's the aftermath of those 85 kmh winds a day ago.

Took years to get these materials, to fix my leaky roof, & now they're all trashed.

If anyone can spare a buck or two, we really appreciate it; we're poor, disabled, broke.

Look at this beautiful, beautiful honey wagon.

And props to the driver, who remembered the way despite only being out here once, and in the winter, no less.

My house is hard to find the first few times, lol.

On my walk up That Dam Road last weekend, I saw that the fireweed is starting to turn red, a well-known omen in these lands.

The last breaths of summer are nigh, and winter's footsteps can be heard in the distance, heavy on the winds.

Here's Meep, doubling herself in the sunshine. It didn't quite take, we still only have one of her, but by the gods of whisker and claw, she sure tried.

We just wrapped up our first campaign, and the party surprised us with these; they had these made, to commemorate.

We're super touched. It's a beautiful gesture, and we're so glad they enjoyed the last few years.

Hopefully campaign 2 starts this summer/fall.

Thanks @nora.zone for these awesome little guys! Can't wait to use them in our next dnd session.

Been having a hard time lately, so thanks for the WWYTHT, because I needed a nice thing for me, it's been ages.

Love your work, and thanks again!

Still smoke. Nothing but smoke, for days now. Apocalyptic.

Not ours; we've had a weirdly cold spring, no fires near here. No, this is all from bc/ab being on fire.

Those white patches, above the treeline? That's the snow on the mountain. The smoke's so thick it's blocked out a mountain.

I saw it, so posting a flower!

These are the first ones that come out in spring, the first colour after all the snows gone, but the Greening has yet to begin.

These little patches of bright purple, wrapped against the chill in their fuzzy little jackets.

10 years ago, we brought him home.

Yesterday, we had to say goodbye.

He was a sweet, simple, gentle giant, changed how I looked at dogs. He made every day a gift, and I'm so thankful for the years we had together.

Goodbye, Blunderbuss; my Big Baby, my Sweet Potato. Dearly loved, deeply missed.

I really like this one. The shadows on the snow covering the river, the thick, secretive forest on the other side, the hint of a mountain peeking over the treetops.

Been a bit, I haven't been doing well, but photo of the day.

This is not my dog, this is a coworkers dog, back all those years ago when I could work. She's stunning, i took quite a few shots of her.

From about three years ago, another moody sky. It's such beautiful land here, I'm so lucky to be able to live here.

I do love action shots of dogs, they're almost always hilarious.

This is a friend's dog, when she was a puppy and only had one speed.

The days are getting longer, and all the land is reaching for the sun.

Sorry I missed a few days there, it has been a bad week for me, mental-health-wise.

This is the boys, from just shy of ten years ago. They're enormous now, taller than me on their back legs, so it's wild to remember when they were teeny wee babies.

When the clouds settle into the valley, and the snow falls thick and fast, it can feel like the rest of the world has been erased, that I'm a lonely pocket of reality left.

Then eventually, the clouds lift a bit, and I'm part of the world again, at least a little.

Almost 10 years ago now; took this one on a rainy day in one of the communities, when we stopped for a pee break.

I might've still been living in my van/tent at this point, I was living that way for several years.

Frost is winter's paintbrush, and it can give all sorts of neat perspectives. Lights through a frosted window can make the world seem like a fey wonderland.

Not necessarily my best, the light wasn't great that day, but what a wild thing to find in a back lot down a back of a remote community in the north, right?!? I so want to know the story behind how it got there, bet it's fascinating.

I used to get so many birds here in the winter. That stopped for a long while, there were like 7 indoor-outdoor cats in the area for a few years.

I finally saw a few chickadees a few weeks back, and hope to see redpolls, like this pretty little one, again one day.

Took this one out in the bush several years ago. I do miss my hikes with the dogs, got a lot of gorgeous land up here.

There are months of winter left still, but the days are getting longer. Mr says there's a hint of blue in the sky on the drive in to work in the am now, and last night it wasn't pitch black out when I looked out at 830pm.
