My brother called his 2 daughters morons for years, so that is why I absolutely hate that word. Now, knowing the origins of it, I hate it even more and I am going to share a screenshot of this with him the next time I hear him say it.

When I was a stay at home mom, I would watch my nieces and nephews who called me auntie. The neighborhood kids picked up on that and so they all call me auntie. Those same kids are now in their mid-upper 20s and still call me auntie.😊

Listen…… I check them every time. White or Black; I’m not about that life. I’m Auntie V, Ms. V, Ms. Barnett or Ms. Vedia. I still call my elders Ms. and Mr. so you know I’m not letting anyone’s child call me by my 1st name.

My little cousin received a letter about his shaving waiver. He is devastated. All he ever wanted to do was follow in his dad's footsteps and serve in the military. He feels betrayed and targeted. His waiver does not impact readiness or his ability to do his job.

My daughter got Strep A/B & a staph infection at work(she's a teacher). She was in the hospital for 2wks and had to go to weeks of PT to gain function in her hand. She's stuck with $75,000 in medical bills from everyone she saw at age 25. This is with insurance.

Yet, they have no self awareness; lack empathy and definitely do not feel any shame. Their white privilege precludes them from feeling any of that.

So glad my daughter left this country, with my neuro-spicy grandson, for greener pastures. I can’t wait to tell her to never come back.

I love the Yacht Rock station on Sirius XM. There is a great documentary about it as well on HBO Max and Prime. I watched it on the plane with my headphones in and I song every song. Took me back to my childhood.
