I'm also a firm believer that "open concept" homes are partly to blame for high divorce rates in the US. Bring back doors that can be shut and insulation that actually blocks noise!

I'm a big fan of the theory that James Bond is a boogeyman character for MI6 and that different agents have taken the mantle over the decades. One croaks and the next just takes his place and moves on.

We're trying but Republicans gerrymandered the fuck out of the state voting maps 15 years ago, and most of the smart residents (the ones who could afford it) left the state around that time too.

Because of nobody does that work then nobody eats. That's why the government subsidizes it. You can't have a modern economy if everyone is worried about where their next meal is coming from every second of the day.

Tl;Dr I don't know anyone who has a hobby farm or a family farm of some sort and isn't working a full time job on top of that to help cover day-to-day expenses and get access to healthcare benefits.

Fwiw, "rich" farmers are what happens when small family farms shut down and VC firms acquire the land for cheap.
Farmers might have a lot of property and equipment, but all of their assets are tied up in those things and what's been planted in the ground. Those funds aren't liquid.

When half the hoops I have to jump through when job hunting are company measures to try to weed out the bot applications these days I feel as though that suggestion makes applying for work worse for everyone, not better for a few.

It's been a while since I was a teen but part of "cultural leadership" means understanding the politics of our time and how to navigate within it, not just how to dress for the office or how to please men who didn't respect me to begin with.
