made us a new headboard out of a $20 headboard i just got and a $50 bolt of blue velvet upholstery fabric i got four years ago with no purpose in mind. i play the long game with DIY.

Statement on vote to pressure Israel to stop famine in Gaza: It is wrong to starve children and other innocent civilians to death. Yet, whether through gross incompetence, woeful indifference, or some combination thereof that is exactly what is happening right now in Gaza under the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu and his government. It is a moral atrocity that cannot abide the conscience of those who believe in human dignity, freedom and human thriving. That is why I will vote to support the Joint Resolution of Disapproval put before the Senate tonight. I've made clear I support the state of Israel and its right to defend itself. Today, I urge the state of Israel, the United States, and the world to move as quickly as possible to get the people of Gaza the same nourishment and care that we would want for our own children. I pray for a ceasefire and the return of the hostages home to their families, and look forward to resuming the work of securing peace and safety for all those in the region. i've had my hair various shades of blue-violet for about ten years, but a couple years ago i started an experiment with my hairstylist where I give her a short evocative phrase and she makes up the color mix in the spot. it has been a ton of fun.
"haunted birthday cake," a deep emerald base with teal and electric violet streaks 'phoenix fire' (I think, I can't quite recall this prompt) was a lovely iridescent mix of cobalt, fuchsia and magenta 'moon garden,' a pale turquoise with streaks of rose pink and sage green 'forest witch,' a mix of mint, lime and light teal, which happened to match up beautifully with my variegated peperomia obtusfolia splotchy leaves

has anyone else noticed a problem when reading a @beehiiv.com newsletter via RSS where text in what looks like blockquote formatting doesn't show up?

whenever i lament the slow progress of the garden, @fromawildkate.bsky.social helpfully reminds me that when we arrived it was sad grass and dirt
from 2018, the side garden, which is just grass and bare dirt with a large oak tree to the side, a couple of sad shrubs and a short picket fence the side garden from today, with a new fence and side gate, mulched pathways and river rock edging, a small flowering magnolia, and native perennials, ferns and hostas slowly filling in the bed areas
