Don't buy dented or partially collapsed canned foods just because they're cheap. Deep dents & dents along the seams can cause linings to crack, leaving the contents exposed to botulism. Small dents in the side are usually okay.
Live frugally, not dangerously.

Repurpose canned soups! My local Aldi's had tomato soup on sale for 14¢ each. I bought six, and used them for:
sauce bases
marinating pork roast
meatloaf seasoning
(cooked down w/diced tomatoes) ciabatta bread spread
Best 84¢ I ever spent!

Coupons are great. But, most #frugalliving negates coupons. Generics, house brands, private label foods & OTC drugs all come from the same factories, basically. Just different boxes & bags. Shopping frugal means buying cheaper than the coupons. Aldi is great for this.

#NOLA parade riders have been recycling Mardi Gras beads for decades, along with other throws which are reused yearly in other parades during the Carnival season. ARC of New Orleans, a nonprofit civic org, both collects beads and receives donations of beads each year, and resells them to new riders.

I want you to look at the light in our neighborhood now. With all the snow to reflect, the entire neighborhood is bathed in coral colored light. Now, look at the evening sky closing in with periwinkle fading into deep indigo. It's beautiful, and most unusual.

When cooking, save all the bits & pieces from your veg; onion peels, pepper tops, apple cores (seeded), etc. Store them in a freezer bag. When full, use these to make vegetable broth for soups & cooking, or to add to saved chicken bones for stock or bone broth. Use all, get more! #getintoit
