Yesterday was one the best days. Seeing us lift the league with my kids, among hundreds of thousands of ‘scousers’ adopted and native was something I’ll never forget. The liverbird back on its perch, the greatest and most successful team in the land. We never walk alone ❤️

But I am reminded on a daily basis when I see the brilliance of my colleagues that it remains a privilege. It’s one of the reasons why no matter the position I am in, I still like getting involved with students. A reminder of what it is all about…

Like most of the population, I’ve got some kind of cold like, chesty lurgy. Usually I would down tools, well running shoes, but instead I’ve listened to my mind and body - still running every day, but shorter and with an effort that is easy to give. I’m so glad as look at this 🧡 in my Liverpool home

Black History Month is coming up with the theme ‘Reclaiming Our Narratives.’ In education, let’s ask: Whose stories are centred? Whose are missing? It’s time to move beyond performative acts and make Black British History truly part of British History—beyond single stories and beyond struggle.

My personal hair journey is symbolic of my own journey towards being anti-racist and coming face to face with my internalised racism.

We gave my Nan the most lovely send off - it really was perfect. As I said, what a privilege to truly be able to celebrate life - all 99 years of it!

It’s my Nan’s funeral this afternoon. She was 99, born on Christmas Eve she lived through 100 Christmas’s! It’s so nice, and such a privilege being able to go to a funeral looking forward to hearing Herstory from my Mum, a lovely poem the teenage great grandchildren wrote and celebrate her life!

The difference in tone in media reporting tragedies at sea is illuminating. It is heartbreaking to see the pictures and know the names of those missing in Sciliy, my thoughts are with those impacted.

Could the media now treat all people who suffer tragedy at sea with the same respect please?
