Trying (and Failing) to Understand Fermat in Six Months!

The phenomenal usage of abstractions and that reminded me of Dijkstra -

"The purpose of abstracting is not to be vague, but to create a new semantic level in which one can be absolutely precise."

It’s worth noting that understanding doesn’t always precede expression. Often, it’s the other way around.

Iteration loop is often a path to beauty.

This guy on the left is senior engineer working remotely from Prison!

Remote work gives an ability to change lives.

This is so inspiring. Thank you to Turso DB for giving him this opportunity.

This is a nice book. Finished first part in a single sitting.

Highly recommended.

One advice about code performance optimisation -

"Reducing the work does not necessarily decrease its running time"

The paper argues that the origin of life - biological or artificial - can be understood as a computational phase transition, where self-replicating structures emerge naturally from simple, interacting components.

Reframes life’s beginning as a generic property of complex information systems. 🤯

Built a small automatic differentiation engine with dynamic computational graph support deep learning framework in Rust from scratch. Gets to 98% accuracy on MNIST dataset in just 1 sec of training!

Wrote a lorenz attractor simulator (Butterfly effect from chaos theory).

Play with it - github.com/vaibhawvipul...

written in python. Easy to interact with.

Teach yourself fundamental idea of Chaos Theory.

AI infrastructure isn’t SaaS. It’s energy.

Will we get a NASDAQ for compute? GPU futures? Regulated utility margins?

Been digging into auction theory and energy economics to make sense of it.

Full write-up drops on June 7th.

BREAKING NEWS MATH FOLKS

To anyone remotely interested in math, AI, or the future of thinking itself - Terence Tao (GOAT) is writing proofs in Lean using Claude and OpenAI's GPT-4o.

And get this - he’s live streaming it. Let that sink in!

What even is this timeline?!

It took me a really long time to understand the flow of execution between JVM and native code during query execution in Comet. I wish I had thought about adding a tracing capability earlier.

I wrote a piece on Open source as a hedge against tariffs and sanctions. It talks about companies like huawei strategically investing in RiscV, Linux, Apache and CNCF to keep the latest tech access and protect itself.

Global order has changed.

For China, Open source is an offensive play.
