Is the only way around that really to define everything as a struct, and then spam the ref keyword as pretty much every other word? Similarly, since you can’t modify structs in a foreach loop, do I have to use a regular index-based for loop every time I want to do that?

How do you stackalloc a class or arrays of classes in C#? The worst thing about C# for me is that I need to decide whether or not a given class/struct is a reference type or a value type when I define it instead of when I use it, even though I almost always want to do both.

I’m looking forward to reading them!

Is there a better way to follow ITILY? I want to receive notifications I can click when episodes release, but right now the only way I know is through Webtoons. An RSS feed would be ideal, but an email list or even just not censoring these BSKY links (BSKY doesn’t punish links) would do in a pinch

I should get around to watching the rest of Red Dwarf at some point... I watched the first three-ish seasons and liked it, but didn’t get further than that

This one works but only when I squint really hard

‘The Morgulon’ is about werewolves and it has lived rent-free in my brain for the past couple years. It has a dark fantasy setting that feels like it was inspired by folklore much moreso than high fantasy.

The Morgulon - Werewolves, Hunters, War and Politics
Loegrion is a country thrice cursed. Least of the three is the occupation by the Valoisian Empire, which the people have grudgingly learned to live with. The second is the Rot, spawned by the spells...

For webcomics instead of books I’ll recommend ‘IaaDitE’ by @24hourssleeping.bsky.social (complete), ‘Astral Sounds’ by @the-snowlion.bsky.social (ongoing), and Derideal by @kiaun.bsky.social (ongoing). All of which have very little in common with each other than all being very good.

I highly recommend ‘Theta’ by @sashafox.bsky.social

It, and especially its sort-of-sequel, get pretty dark, including things like slavery, sexual abuse, and rape (at a level more detailed than fade-to-black, but less than explicit), so definitely not for everyone, but I thought both were excellent

There’s someone (the ‘focus puller’) who’s whole-ass job it is to keeping the camera in focus. As the main camera operator is moving the camera around, they’ve got their hand on the focus dial and are constantly making adjustments to control the focus.

As programmer who’s been doing game dev for a few years, I’ve been loving watching you (a non-programmer) just hop right into things.
You don’t have to be a good programmer to make a great game, you just have to be good enough.
Your lack of consistent code formatting causes me immense pain, though.

This use of AI isn’t trying to replace human creativity, so I don’t really have a problem with it as such. On the other hand, this does raise some data privacy concerns. Of course, they’re probably collecting all that data either way, so I don’t think that AI can be blamed. Still, feels bad.

As someone who really fucking hates generative AI, this doesn’t really bother me for AI reasons. ‘Predicting what buttons you’ll press next to reduce network input lag’ is something that already happens, it just currently uses a ‘dumb’ algorithm instead of machine learning to make those predictions.

As long as it’s not spammed it wouldn’t bother me

But as much as I love webcomics, I love webnovels and books just as much.
I cannot say I’m disappointed with this. I’m actually rather looking forward to it.

PotC was among the first half dozen or so webcomics that I read, and now I’m reading over 70 that still actively update (plus I don’t know how many that don’t anymore). I still remember bing-reading most of it when I was sick one weekend next to a rainy window, however many years ago that was.

Do you have any plans for hosting your comic on a dedicated comic website? ComicFury, maybe?
Gallery sites are fine but not great for reading a backlog, but bad for following as pages release. Social media technically works for following but isn’t good, and is really bad for reading backlogs.
