I just spent 6 days in London, and you may not know this about me, but I have never ever needed an umbrella while in London, and this time was no different 😇 (It rained once while I was inside at Comic Con and once at night, and it started again the moment we left... 🤣)

• to eat: cut the dumplings in half and drizzle melted butter on them and add sugar to taste

• roll finished dumplings in the breadcrumbs

• ready the breadcrumbs by roasting them in lightly buttered frying pan; once they're brown, add sugar (about half of the breadcrumbs)
• let dumplings simmer in lightly salted water for app. 10 minutes (they'll float when they're ready)
• melt butter for serving

• mix in flour and egg (for 1kg of potatoes, use 1 egg and app. 240g of flour → it's possible you'll need more flour to form dumplings, depends on how starchy your potatoes are; just add more if they're too sticky)
• form dumplings with slightly wet hands and work in the fruit in the middle

You need: high-starch potatoes, plums or apricots (not frozen!), flour, egg, sugar, breadcrumbs (the mixture we used additionally contains flour, salt, and yeast), butter

• peel, dice, and boil potatoes in lightly salted water, then mash them
