SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level. SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this. SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

My favourite Robert Redford story is the one about why he got rejected for the lead role in The Graduate. RIP to a real one.
An excerpt from an interview with the director of The Graduate, Mike Nichols. "I interviewed hundreds, maybe thousands of men", Nichols admitted of the casting process per Vanity Fair, before his conversation with Redford turned out to be a short one. "I said, 'You can't play it. You can never play a loser'. And Redford said, 'What do you mean? Of course I can play a loser'. And I said, 'OK, have you ever struck out with a girl'. And he said, 'What do you mean?' And he wasn't joking."

They erased the new Banksy mural in London. But the stain remains.
