Definitely a valid concern! What is also different here, I think, is that the news gets to now report on an active coverup of a scandal, as opposed to flagrant, public corruption. They loooooove to do the former while being completely unequipped to cover the latter, which has protected Trump a lot.

I do not think it is insignificant that the evil and powerful elites of the country are nearly illiterate, though.
