Random thought for an isekai rpg is just "Run an published adventure for whatever RPG you fancy where everyone involved has played it before and also the -characters- have been through it before and remember what happened last time so can try to avert the worst bits.

Apparently at one point ICE had the Narnia license and was going to make it as a MERP spinoff- they were advertising it in the back of Rolemaster books in the eighties but I don't think it ever happened.

There's the licensed Konosuba TRPG that got an English translation a few years back, which is probably the most straightforwardly "This is an Isekai RPG" being based on an actual isekai property and having selecting your cheat ability as part of the mechanics.

Honestly not having the immediate context of the rest of the thread I read this as doing a bit about Mage.

I honestly kinda liked the game as the early 4E Heartbreaker that it was, but...yeah. Yeah.
