The outline of the core is making up the side profiles of two characters and acts as space between them. The characters made from negative space look at each other, the one on the left kept in cold colour palette, the one on the right is drawn in warm tones. There's a seed in the apple and it is in a shadow in the shape of a heart. Thought it's a cute detail
