The right one appears to be leaning against a wall with one foot against the wall, and a tail curling around that leg. Both have their hands out as though gesturing while talking to the other. Progress on the previous image. Both figures are now well defined, wearing a blank baseball uniform, and covered in feathers (left) and fur (right). Left’s wings are now feathered, but right’s tail is absent.

tada!!!!! this isn’t actually finished, but I’m going to make a separate post for the final draft.
Progress on the previous drawing. The background is now completely colored although not shaded. It is primarily cool grays; a large scoreboard displays the message “I’m Sorry”.

he has color! although his surroundings are still lacking some. also i shortened his sleeves, lengthened his hair, and swapped his handedness to better match the existing design.
Progress on the previous drawing. The shirt is now red with cream accents, the pants are a light gray, the skin is a midtone brown, and the ears and tail are those of a ginger tabby. The glove and baseball are both colored as well.

I still haven’t actually finished this because real life has been busy. Here’s the next step in the series, at least.
Further development of previous drawings. Drawing of a person kneeling, right elbow resting on their knee, resting their face on their right hand. Six wings extend from their back. The top pair are positioned above them as if to shield them from rain; the middle and bottom pairs are resting against the ground. The person’s left foot now appears to push aside some of the feathers on the bottom wing. The person has short hair and is wearing a soccer jersey with a penny symbol on the sleeve and number 35 on front.

A development of the original sketch. The kneeling figure is now better defined, and the individual feathers on the wings have been outlined. Further development of previous drawing. The kneeling figure now has a shirt and shorts (a blank soccer jersey) and shoes. The areas where shadows will fall have been roughly marked out in a semi-opaque brush.
