And the US is not "eroding norms"? I know our Nova Scotia Premier is... eroding democratic traditions every day and at every turn. Just scary and sad watching it go and feeling powerless. When I can, I protest, but not sure it does any good... and I send hundreds of emails...

I am distressed by red poppies. I once thought they stood for peace. To remember the dead and mourn. But, the (TM) red poppy is, I am regularly told, for those who want to valourize soldiers (& WAR), & to cheer to build war machines. Peace is viewed as treacherous. . . So yes they are political.
