Last and most complicated for us was the Specter — because no player had created the Miner's Guild we had much less of a sense of the faction, and no good name to work with (the Miner seemed boring!) We eventually made our way from "Prospector" to "Specter" — though it was a long road

Chris had also given us a lot to with with for the Buzzard for the face of Shots, both in name and aesthetic. His faction episode gave us a ton to work with immediately. The look of this card is my absolute favorite (and definitely NOT just because they have basically my haircut shh)

The Courier was aesthetically simpler once we'd mapped Snakes to the LfE — the cool thing about the Courier is his thematic effect, which involves claiming all Stones in the discard pile. Snakes are the weakest suit, but they pick up what's left behind by staying out of the suit-trumping conflict.

The Courier was aesthetically simpler once we'd mapped Snakes to the LfE — the cool thing about the Courier is his thematic effect, which involves claiming all Stones in the discard pile. Snakes are the weakest suit, but they pick up what's left behind by staying out of the suit-trumping conflict.
Ditto the Confessor, which Roman had already named. The art here leaned way weirder scifi than some of our original inspo, but still had the signature look of fancy church robes and, of course, a weird visible mutation with the extra fingers.

The Marshal was an obvious one—we'd already decided to go with "Marshal" as the title for the Company representative in a given town (over, eg., Sheriff) for several reasons. And the mix of an old-west sheriff vibe with some plate armor to represent the Company's martial power made perfect sense.
