That it's happened so consistently across the EU and anglosphere reinforces that this is a structural problem, and therefore not something that can be fixed by getting the "correct" politicians or party into office.
center-left parties around the world rn are like well... drifting right and providing a watered down version of the politics people are voting for hasn't worked for the last fifty years... but it might work for us

For Dems, a solely anti-Trump platform is their only move.

In the modern era, conservative parties in the industrialized west have a much easier time running on a strong vision. Liberal/social democratic parties win not based on vision, but on the political exhaustion of the conservatives in power.
