If editing the registry seems sketchy, I can recommend O&O ShutUp10++ (from O&O Software GmbH).
(recommending to download random proprietary programs is iffy to me, but in this case this company from Berlin has been around since 1998, it does more, and can compare settings between Windows updates)

Hand editing your Windows Registry is not something I would normally recommend, but these instructions are simple and direct. Do exactly as directed and you'll be fine. If you get lost/stuck for some reason, tag me.

I think the biggest pitfall of sci-fi/fantasy storytelling, especially for worldbuilders, in the infodump.

I fucking loved this movie and it's criminally underrated
The only movie to do this acceptably was Rock and Rule, and that's because the voice/text crawl opens up with how a "legendary super-rocker" is trying to open the gates of Hell for a rock concert.
