Dear senators who think you can’t do anything,

Today, Senator Van Hollen - through diplomatic pressure - got a meeting with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. So that thing you’re thinking about doing? DO IT.

Today all regional OFCCP staff & the enforcement division at the national office were placed on admin leave (effective yesterday!). The union was notified today. A formal RIF is expected.

The writing's been on the wall, but it is extra outrageous to be illegally sacked by a former SpaceX lawyer.

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

DOGE Is Far Short of Its Goal, and Still Overstating Its Progress
Elon Musk now says his group will produce only 15 percent of the savings it promised. But even that estimate is inflated with errors and guesswork.

This is what happens when you let a bunch of men who think they know everything loose on government data with no guardrails. And tbh I'd love to know which idiot approving these stupid actions.

It would be funny to watch their incompetence if real people weren't at risk.
Hours ago, @politico.com revealed that DOGE is working with DHS on automating mass deportation efforts — likely explaining why many US citizens, green card holders, and even a Canadian (in Canada) got threatening emails last night terminating “your parole” and telling them to leave the US in 7 days.

@gtconway.bsky.social is 100% right. check out High Conflict Personalities, which often overlap with personality disorder traits, and the work done by Bill Eddy and others in that space. once you see how predictable unreasonable people are, it gets easier to react well

It said deportations to the awful El Salvador prison can continue, but must allow time for due process and have to file in nearby (conservative) courts.
