Got a new personal best on Balatro.
Initially, I didn't like High Score Balatro, mostly just focusing on Gold Stake, but it's a good pacebreaker from trying to farm every deck.

I used the Serpent to get through the last Antes, but a multiplier of 8 seems to be the limit for this strategy.

Guys... I don't think I can beat this blind.

Ayo, I got an arbitrary number in a video game!
It was a fun climb though.
Remember to play what you're good at, not what's "meta!"

Rocket is someone who could really use a good hug... not that he'd ever admit it though.

"Sad Boi"

Two weeks using a graphic tablet. I have much to learn, but I had a lot of fun experimenting with this piece. I'm particularly proud of the texturing of the hair.

Hmm... I was surprised how accurate that description was.
But after giving it a bit of thought, it actually makes a lot of sense.
...guess I'll be mostly alone on this year's NaNoWriMo :P

[17] Baldur's Gate 3 is a gimme. Almost everyone who values good games loves this thing. Abundant customization, story branching, freedom of choice, diversity, everything!

Also, for some reason, Dragonborns have so much more expressive animations than other races. Dunno why, but I love 'em!

[16] I nearly forgot about this one - Outer Wilds. The most unique and wonderful experience I had in gaming. A game you truly can play through only once, and it's the best time you'll ever have in a video game - Exploring a minute solar system

Good cries, reflections, and genuine lessons about life

[15] No, this is not a joke. I genuinely enjoy Among Us. It's the best execution of an online Murder Mystery game I've seen. Base game can get stale over time, but the mods that add a ton of unique and game-bending roles can legit keep me playing this game forever.

I'm always up for Among Us!

[14] For me, the King of Roguelikes. Risk of Rain 2 perfectly mixes fast combat, ridiculous combinations, and a gameplay loop that never gets boring. Also, the lore is very subtle but worth the search.

The modding community is also booming. I hope to contribute to it soon!

[13] I'm very late to Mass Effect. I played it this February and it has a special place in my heart. Not only because of its amazing story, characters, and cross-game progression, but by falling in love with a fictional character.

...and surprisingly why I am a furry - Humans as species are boring.

[12] Oh yeah, Bloons! Series from my childhood! The 6th part really took off and for a good reason. It's an easy-to-pick-up Tower Defence, with a surprising amount of depth and skill expression. Coop friendly, and tons of events!

...I have over 1000 hours played on this game? O-oh...

[11] Do you wanna have dumb fun with your friend, pick up Saints Row 3.
Shoot cops, blow up buildings, hunt furries, beat up hookers with a giant rubber dildo! The game's absurd with its humor and it only gets better if you lean into it.

A great icebreaker for a relationship, no joke.

[10] More underrated roguelikes! Griftlands rocks! A deck builder with a big focus on roleplay and story. A unique twist is having two decks, one for Combat, and a second for Negotiations.

You gotta survive in a post-apocalyptic world - With your words, or your fists! The choice is yours!

[9] Call it blasphemy, but Heroes of Might and Magic 4 is my favorite. The series is a classic for Polish gaming, but the black sheep somehow managed to captivate me with drastic changes to the gameplay. Having your heroes actually on a battlefield, not only commanding your troops? I love it!

[8] With high playtime mentioned, Isaac gets a mention too. The game wasn't perfect, especially with most of its DLCs, but Repentance made this game truly replayable for me. An ironic comfort roguelike I'll always come back to. Also the modding community is underrated. Try their stuff!

[7] There's no way I'm not including Terraria on this list. It's my most played game ever, with 2000 hours in the base game, and over 700 in modded. Progression is long enough to play for weeks on a single world, while the game has so many features and stuff to do, you keep discovering more.

[6] Speaking of great voice acting, Transistor! While the gameplay isn't mindblowing, it's unique enough to be entertaining, while experiencing this initially confusing, but very human story. Amazing use of the "silent protagonist" trope.
October 26, 2024 at 5:37 PM
[5] Firewatch is gorgeous! And not only that, it has the best voice acting I've ever heard, period. You genuinely forget the characters are fictional due to how naturally they've been written.

Also, great themes about escapism. Helped me realize some weaknesses of my own.

[4] I ain't a big fan of 2D platformer games, but Celeste managed to draw me with its uniquely told story - You as a player experience the same feelings the MC does, due to how the themes are interwoven with common feelings during a difficult platformer game.

I'm proud to say I beat every level!

[3] I'm gonna cheat a little and put a series here - InFamous is a superhero parkour-focus action series, with a lot of dark and some philosophical themes. If you're a person gifted with powers, what are you going to do with them?

It's not perfect, but it's still an old series I look up to.
