Yeah, PhD economists seem to have a problem with Demand Side Depreciation.

"fact-based economics" ???

Do Automobiles purchased by consumers wear out and therefore Depreciate? Where is the Data on the annual depreciation of consumer cars for the last 30 years?

There were 200,000,000 motor vehicles in the US in 1995.

Yeah, just another day on the job. 😔

This has to violate some cosmic science fiction law.
The planet may implode.

How about everybody understanding 700 year old double entry accounting and being able to do it with their pocket supercomputers.

When do economists suggest that? Accounting could have been mandatory since 1950.

How many Automobiles have been manufactured and trashed since WWII?

What have economists said about the depreciation of all of those machines?

Karl Marx used the word 'depreciation' 100+ times in Das Kapital. No cars back then!

Could Planned Obsolescence be high-tech wage slavery?
What is NET DP?
November 12, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Is depreciation a Law of Economics resulting from the Laws of Physics?

What have economists been saying about the annual depreciation of automobiles since whenever they figured out Planned Obsolescence?

Have Economists figured out Planned Obsolescence since 1980?

What is the NET Domestic Product?
November 12, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Trumpression!

One obvious difference about the Great Depression from now is that it was not preceded by 70 yrs of planned obsolescence in automobiles.

That would have been the American Civil War.

No Cars! 🚔 😆

The NET Domestic Product has slipped the minds of the entire Economics Profession! 🤑
November 12, 2025 at 5:26 AM
Notice that Economists with PhDs cannot tell the American people what they lose on the depreciation of automobiles every year.

What is Planned Obsolescence?

What is the NET Domestic Product?

Can Economists do algebra?
November 12, 2025 at 5:13 AM
This is why I am having a little war with the Economics Profession.

They say nothing about the depreciation of the junk, including automobiles. Running a planet on defective Algebra makes so much sense.

I have been blocked by a bunch of PhD economists. Some Marxists don't like me either.
November 12, 2025 at 3:29 AM
Automobiles purchased by consumers are not regarded as Capital. They are consumer goods, like bananas.
November 12, 2025 at 3:02 AM
LOL

I worked for IBM but I noticed that there were things that I was not being told.

Get an Economics textbook and look up the Net Domestic Product. Then try to find the annual depreciation of automobiles purchased by consumers since 1980.

What experts are required for such simple concepts?
November 11, 2025 at 10:30 PM
It is very curious what you can learn about History and Economics from some science fiction stories. Technology too!

A time travel story creating an alternate history of Russia bringing 20th Century ideas about economics to the 17th Century.
Normality is so boring! 😆

GDP is Grossly Distorted Propaganda

What is the NET Domestic Product?
What has happened to the depreciation of Durable Consumer Goods, like Automobiles, since Sputnik?

But cannot do Algebra.
November 11, 2025 at 12:46 AM
Karl Marx used the word 'depreciation' 100+ times in Das Kapital but there were no automobiles to depreciate back then. When did he predict the first 400 mph airplane?

The depreciation of hundreds of millions of Automobiles are irrelevant to economists.

GDP, GDP, rah, rah, RAH! 🤣
November 9, 2025 at 11:37 PM
Is ignoring the depreciation of durable consumer goods while not discussing planned obsolescence part of Western Culture?

See the Net Domestic Product equation.
November 9, 2025 at 2:46 PM
What did John Maynard Keynes say abt the Planned Obsolescence of automobiles? He never saw a television commercial for an automobile.

What if Planned Obsolescence is nothing but a hi-technology form of slavery? Where is the data on the annual depreciation of cars? What is the NET Domestic Product?
November 8, 2025 at 10:45 PM
The road to serfdom is paved with BMWs.

And iPhones. 🤑

Hayek lived long enough to see Planned Obsolescence but I am not aware of his ever saying anything about it.

The Waste Makers (1960) by Vance Packard

What is Gen-Z supposed to do at this point? Decades of Depreciation ignored.

NDP vs GDP
November 8, 2025 at 8:33 PM
How about mandatory accounting in the schools? That could have been done since 1950. What would the effect be by now?

Not so many people dumb enough to take out sub-prime loans? Not so many buying over-priced cars to be repossessed?

How about economists who can figure out Planned Obsolescence?
November 8, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Keynes never saw a TV commercial for an automobile, but he probably heard of Rolls Royce Merlin engines manufactured by Packard.

We are not in Keynesland any more, Toto!

Planned Obsolescence is good for GDP. We must not have those 15-hour workweeks. Going into debt for junk turns the money wheel.
November 8, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Economists cannot do Algebra!

What is the NET Domestic Product? Where is the data on the annual depreciation of automobiles owned by American consumers since 1980? Shouldn't Economists have figured out Planned Obsolescence by then, a Decade after Apollo 11?

Does Gen-Z care about the Moon Landing?
November 8, 2025 at 5:05 PM
It is half-a-century after the Moon Landing. When have you heard an economist talk about the Planned Obsolescence of Automobiles?

How much do American consumers lose on the depreciation of automobiles each year?

What is the NET Domestic Product?
