There is a bias among pundits to eye-roll and dismiss Dem opposition to Trump (such as the No Kings protests) as predictable. But in terms of raw numbers (both events and participants), what we're seeing is much bigger than e.g. the Tea Party movement was. Dems are a high entropy system right now

I know we've worked hard to move history ed away from names and dates but I think we might need to swing back to chronology a bit because "who was president on january 8 2021?" and "which came first, the clinical description of autism or tylenol?" shouldn't be this hard, especially for reporters.

Tyler Robinson will be out of the news by Monday.

Right wing which dominates media and politics and power is already gaslighting their audience and still blaming "the left."

You can't shame shameless people who are committed to an extremist authoritarian project.

New Mexico's economy is a fraction of the size of New York City's.

If they can enact universal childcare — and relieve working families of a crushing cost burden — surely we can too.

It's just a question of political will.
New Mexico will be the first state to make child care free
The program, which is expected to save families $12,000 per child annually, is available to all residents regardless of income.

Too bad the GOP effectively criminalized studying how information moves online and news orgs laid off and demonized all the reporters who covered the burgeoning online accelerationist performative death cults. All of that work was somehow "censorship" that needed to be stopped. Now we're here.

Never not amazing when for all the money and power law agencies are given, they go on tv with a shrug and say “look, American public, you really gotta help us out on this one”

It's worth asking why every elite institution is issuing statements like this rather than pointing out the obvious fact that the institutional right commits and glorifies violence far more than the left. Is there a reason you feel you can't say that out loud?

Delighted to see that Superman, a completely fictional guy who wears his underwear on the outside, is “arousing teutonic anger”
The right-wing backlash against #Superman this week got me thinking: Has this happened before?

That led to the discovery of these headline — from April 1940, when the official newspaper of the SS took umbrage at the comic book hero and ridiculed its creators.

My how times change ...

When I say most people are good and we are going to beat these fascists, people like this woman are why I feel so confident:

“The message that it sent was very clear: For us to be afraid to come back and do the work that we’re doing,” Mendez said.

Stone, however, said she would volunteer again.”
