You'd think this would finally expose the double standard. But perception is reality in the populist age, so the skewed perception that social & legacy media painted of Harris is what people remember.

That's why populist idiots will still attack her for being "to the right of trump" even now. /end

Ofc, then Trimp actually does what he says he will, and the ostensibly neurotic Democrats are proven correct— he *did* actually have a fascist agenda, and the center-right positions being projected onto him were just that: wishful thinking at best, deliberate apologia at worst.

Trump is just being crazy and wacky lol, don’t take him too seriously. But his opponent must be taken seriously, because that's unbiased, somehow.

So Harris's proposals get compared to ppl’s baseless assumptions of what Trump is “actually" going to do, rather than what he *says* he's going to do.

So when Harris says she'll prosecute trafficking orgs & crack down on fake asylum claims, she's seen as "running to the right of Trump;" because her positions are NOT ACTUALLY being compared to his promises of unconstitutionally ending birthright citizenship or militarily policing the border.

Legacy *and* social media coverage of 2024 followed the same pattern: *every word* from the Democrat was taken completely seriously, and only compared to other sane people. Meanwhile, Trump was graded on a curve: "take him seriously but not literally," as his supporters say.
