Yes. Please and thank you. ❤️
The news media are focusing on how Trump is abusing federal workers and depriving the American people of vital services as he vandalizes government agencies. But the media need to say more often that these actions are ILLEGAL.

I keep seeing people say “be careful; you’ll end up on a list.” Well, I’ve got some news for you:

If you’re truly worried about winding up on a list, we’re way past the point at which silence will help a damn thing.

Today February 23, 2025 @nytimes.com editors have seemingly approved of the use of the words “lying / lie” being applied to Donald Trump.

Hopefully this provides inspiration for other journalists, editors, publishers looking for guidance.

Is NYT approval of the use of “racist” in the works?

A federal judge has just ordered Musk to get out of Treasury’s computers. We are fortunate there are good lawyers representing democracy. Normally that would end the matter, but in this era there are legit questions about compliance & enforcement. We live on the edge of a constitutional crisis.

An important fact that's really hard to believe and keep in focus is that there's no federal law enforcement right now, at least none for people on Trump's team who commit crimes.
A teen DOGE staffer recently given access to government systems worked at a startup known for hiring convicted hackers. Someone using a Telegram handle associated with him also solicited a cyberattack-for-hire service in 2022. All raising questions about his vetting. www.wired.com/story/edward...
DOGE Teen Owns ‘Tesla.Sexy LLC’ and Worked at Startup That Has Hired Convicted Hackers
Experts question whether Edward Coristine, a DOGE staffer who has gone by “Big Balls” online, would pass the background check typically required for access to sensitive US government systems.

Lotta people engaging with this post like there's a moment in the future where we hold all the power and get to stand in judgment of those who weren't with us. That is not currently the trajectory we're on. If you've got a plan to make it happen, LMK! Otherwise gonna stick with "build the coalition"
friendly reminder that the best case scenario over the coming years is that a lot of people say "I supported Trump but this isn't what I wanted at all" and when they do that it's gonna be really, really important that we say "welcome in," not "fuck you, we told you so"

#cyberbarons . . . the term perfectly captures what the resistance needs to focus on fighting
This is a moment.

It's a powerful articulation of the problem with #cyberbarons consolidating government and economic power and the potential response -- genesis of a populist antitrust, anti-monopoly movement.

Could appeal beyond partisan divides.
