But not just the rigidity, it's a point of principle that we don't elect a prime minister, we elect local MPs, and how parliament organises itself can change between elections.

Really enjoyed this episode with Jon Mackenzie. Interesting to hear different and nuanced thinking on tactics since the launch of the pod.

The word 'commit' is tied to criminal acts. Suicide has been legal for more than 60 years, but our language hasn't changed.

Wonderful news. A salutary reminder of the absolute benefits of scientific progress, and the absolute evil of conspiracist bollocks.

mRNA vaccines can be quickly programmed based on viral genomic sequence. It’s like anti-viral software updates IRL. That quick and nimble nature is what makes them so useful.
The impact of the defunding of pandemic mRNA vaccines for bird flu and other influenzas is huge--a blow to America's preparedness plans for future pandemics.

I was allowed to camp in the garden when young. One night I had freed myself of the cloth. As I sat there naked a fly landed on the tip of my todger. Whilst I could have removed it, I didn't. I let it walk about on my plonker. Felt nice. I think about that fly sometimes.
