The answer to the question John posed is simple. It's because the republicans in the Senate and house, by and large, are not serious people and aren't there to do their job and appropriately represent the best interests of their constituents.

As I recall, Colorado pays more in federal taxes than it receives back. How's about we don't pay it in the first place?
