With homes destroyed, shelters overcrowded and limited access to clean water, fuel & electricity, thousands are at risk of exposure to the cold.

Over a month after a ceasefire agreement took place, aid levels remain alarmingly low. Without urgent intervention, preventable deaths will rise sharply.

"Every refugee family deserves a warm welcome and the chance to rebuild their lives in safety. Through this programme, we're not just training volunteers - we're building a movement of compassion that will strengthen communities across the UK," said IRC UK's Genevieve Caston.

There will also be opportunities for sponsors to learn from and network with peers and experts in the field to share experiences and best practices.

All of the resources in the programme are informed by and developed alongside IRC’s Community Advisory Board and Experts by Experience.

IRC training for sponsors will cover:

• Immediate practical support like airport pickups and settling into homes

• Longer-term integration assistance like financial wellbeing, employment support and safeguarding

• Supporting children's education through IRC's acclaimed Healing Classrooms approach
