So I've seen this floating around for a while, and I always disagreed with their interpretation, but I never got around to drawing mine because it would be a pain to move it to the computer, lug out the drawing tablet, and then drawing. That was, until I got my phone with a stylus! Voilà!

Had a lot of feelings about something I saw today. Had to write it out.

I have no issues with gaining as a kink. I have really good friends who are gainers, who I love and support in any and all of their endeavors. Maybe in another world, I could have been a gainer. But I’m not. And there’s a very specific reason I’m not: gaining has a very strong correlation with degradation as a kink. I have no issues with degradation as a kink. I know many wonderful people who like being degraded, and I hope them all well. I’m glad they’re chasing their bliss. But I don’t like it. Picture of text labeled “2”. None of that makes me feel sexually aroused. Normally, with most kinks, I take a live and let live approach: if someone is into a kink that I don’t like, I’ll just not care. If they post about it a lot on social media, the worst I’ll usually do is just unfollow them. Or if they’re someone I like to check in on, I’ll just mute them. I also take time to curate my experience by muting tags and words of things that I don’t like so I can peacefully coexist with people who like things I don’t. But there is a consistent and pervasive subset of gainers who have the idea that every fat person is also a gainer, and that they also want to be degraded. Picture of text labeled “3”. But enough of them have made me feel INCREDIBLY uncomfortable by opening with “Wow! You’re so fat! You must be excited by how disgusting and useless you are! (Side note, I’ve had similar dealings with some people who like small penis humiliation, who assume that since I’m not well endowed I MUST like being reminded of that fact with particular vitriol, even if they mean it as a compliment. This behavior isn’t unique to gaining. This, again, is also not a one to one) Again, I’m not saying every gainer does this. But it’s happened enough that I’ve started to open with “Hi! I’m not a gainer!”, and have debated putting that in my bio. Picture of text labeled “4”. The text reads: Why did I decide to write this out? Well, today I was scrolling and saw someone post derisively about people who’s put “I’m not a gainer, just fat” in their bios. And several people agreeing with them. I decided that rather than take out my aggression on someone for what I consider a very incorrect take, I’d just make my own (incredibly long and probably not worth it) post about why I think that their take was wrong.
