World leaders must also make efforts to combat disinformation at COP30. As Mulvey notes in this article, oil, gas & coal companies are appropriating tobacco industry tactics by "manufacturing uncertainty about climate science and blocking climate, clean energy & clean transportation policies."

In a new blog @kathymulvey.bsky.social outlines the problems with giving representatives of an industry with such clear conflicts of interest the ability to influence international climate talks. The world remains wildly off track to rein in emissions, and fossil fuel obstruction is one key reason.
