Receiving this medal named in honor of the esteemed Professor Savio L-Y. Woo feels like an incredible privilege. This award recognizes efforts in translating biomechanics and bioengineering research into practical solutions that improve human health and quality of life.

Can you also comment on new administration’s plans to tackle chronic disease epidemic, ultra-processed foods and poor nutrition, food additives, pesticides and toxic chemicals, industrial agriculture, among other issues. These issues seem reasonable.

Such an honor for our group to be collaborating with CBOTH on a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project on Field Deployable Whole Blood Equivalent. @darpa.bsky.social

CBOTH is led by Dr. Allan Doctor and it is the leading center in the world when it comes to red blood cell research, oxygen transport, and synthetic blood.
