Charging themselves 30% in the name of fairness
Cook's slavering to Trump means regulatory risk to Apple is much lower than under Biden. He can always buy Trump a new East Wing, etc.

But get this. Apple's services division makes a gross profit margin of 70%.

In normal industries, it's typically 5-10%.

THAT's what abusive market dominance is.
Apple tops $100bn in services revenue even as legal risks grow
Tech giant’s high-margin unit has doubled in size over the past five years

I needed to get a key cut but it couldn’t be done because what the locksmith was working on was a copy (probably of a copy) and none of the three attempts he made would open the lock. The only solution was to throw away the lock and start again. Just a thought
Y'all. I just got ChatGPT to do everything in R for this manuscript. I mean EVERYTHING. And it's all legit and reproducible. I'm shook.

How are we mentoring our trainees in statistics now? Who needs to learn coding in R line by line, and who doesn't?

@hanrattydave.bsky.social there was a point in this weeks podcast where Chris talked about his brother sprinting back for Basket Case. I too know that album back and forth so knew to be ready when our 10 year old heard his favourite band play his favourite song

Years ago, I bought an old (1941) OS map of Newcastle, Co Down from Oxfam for a quid. While there was some detail on the left, the rest was just sea and empty. My niece studied art at @ulsteruni.bsky.social so we challenged her to fill in the blank with “lovecraftian madness”. Today we hung it
