my only guess is that these things are happening in less-than-public events, so it's easier for the status quo to be maintained and everyone who COULD make hay out of this to, instead, let it go. Like, there's a difference between photo-ops like this and having it happen during a televised debate.
I am once again saying that we saw what wall to wall, panic coverage of a crisis looked like after the Biden debate and there’s no reason Trump isn’t getting that kind of coverage except for class solidarity.
