Haha, I’m mostly kidding. I do have a good amount of forest nearby. No mountains for hundreds of miles, unfortunately. I dug a koi pond last year, though!

@posthog.com The new web site feels like an April Fools joke... as part of a team paying $$$$/month, I can't figure out how to get into the dashboard to actually use the app. 😬

Tip for Mac users: the built-in keyboard replacements tool is great. You can use it to get text-to-emoji replacement on essentially any text field (unless the developer has done something truly foul—looking at you, Gmail compose field). E.g., I type :hoot to get the owl emoji.

Best “one more thing” from a presentation ever, complements of @josevalim.bsky.social. So psyched to try it out.

Really enjoyed @nicholasjhenry.github.io’s talk on validating business rules in Ecto. It had never occurred to me that we should validate some of our association rules in the context, not the schema’s changeset function, but I’m convinced!

The nicest thing that has ever been said about me as a dev 🥹

P.S. If your company doesn’t have a shoutouts channel in Slack, you should get on that. 😄

Why won't my coworkers approve my PR??

Two interesting things to note:

- The overwhelming majority of poll respondents on both Twitter and Mastodon say they'd read it, but the overwhelming majority of replies on all 3 sites say they wouldn't
- As I've always found, people on Mastodon have higher rates of self-reported conscientiousness
