I don't particularly care--nor should the Democrats--whether or not protecting trans people is popular in the heartland. Even if it alienates the "moderates," it's the right thing to do, and the Democrats should make every effort to do it. Sometimes what the people need is to be led and not lead.

If school vouchers didn’t work in Arizona, they won’t work here.
I know queer people have survived bad stuff (including the last Trump admin) before but 1) notably a lot of them didn’t and 2) I don’t want to have to *survive* anything. I don’t want to be living in mortal peril for the next four years and, honestly, probably longer than that. I just want to exist.

Surreal being a trans person on this website this week. Every single one of my trans friends is making emergency preparations in case Trump bans our health care while fighting off existential dread and depression, and 99% of the cis people i follow seemingly have nothing to say about the trans EOs.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the fact that Larian had the opportunity to create one of the best archetypal “good guy” characters maybe ever with Wyll Ravengard and they just… didn’t. They had the opportunity to create such depth and nuance and completely missed the mark. It’s disappointing.
