Thought about this for a while, but something finally beat out Oppenheimer for my personal number 1 for movies this year.

Going nuts. Started my SOP (Statement of Purpose) for the JET Program and I have zero idea how to start the essay.

Wow, yeah. I get the hype. Brilliantly crafted, amazing movie.
I FINALLY get to watch this. I saw the trailer once and it stuck with me and, unfortunately, never had an opportunity to go see it in theaters. But now I can finally enjoy the movie. Now watching:

Man, the “Haunting in Connecticut” franchise is really taking some wild swings. Then again, nowhere to go but up after “The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia “. Now watching:

Shock of shocks, Perfect Blue was amazing. It’s constantly fighting with Millennium Actress as my favorite Satoshi Kon film (except around Christmas time, then Tokyo Godfathers jumps into the lead).
What to watch this weekend…

The Nun II? Nah

Oppenheimer? Seen it enough in theaters

Mission Impossible? Same as Oppenheimer

Greek Wedding 3? They made a number 2?

Sound of Freedom? Fuck no

Wait, what’s this? Oh, I know EXACTLY what to do. Now watching:

Finally catching up with the rest of Next Generation, starting where I left off with The Best of Both Worlds Part 1

Watched the first two for the first time yesterday. I liked them, in spite of some issues. Hopefully I’ll like this one more. Now watching:

So sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences to Arleen's friends and family. She was a force of nature.

Next is one of the few films not included in the collection. Time for 2007’s My Blueberry Nights.

A nice graduation gift I got from my cousin. A soft, cushy, homemade popcorn pillow.

Now for the last movie in the Criterion Collection’s World of Wong Kar-wai collection: 2046
August 25, 2023 at 9:12 PM
Finally watching the movie that made me decide I needed to do a deep dive on Kar-wai’s work: In the Mood for Love
August 25, 2023 at 6:55 PM
I love doing deep dives on the filmography of amazing directors I haven’t watched enough movies of. Got another planned one that I’m hoping to do this year, but need to finish this one first. Time for the first movie on the second half of Wong Kar-wai’s filmography: 1997’s Happy Together

Really, my account is mostly gonna be me talking about movies, whether it’s about movies I’m watching, going to watch, or have watched and just want to sing the praises of. As such, now watching:
