I've wanted to make a larger Christmas tree for a few years now but historically been too busy to have the time or energy to do it.

Its been the quietest November I've known so thought screw it, I'm throwing myself into something indulgent that I'm going to love bringing to life.

My tiniest Christmas tree yet

A tiny bead and wire Christmas tree topped with a crystal star. For scale, my finger is next to it (there were no available bananas) and the tree is less than half the length of my first finger. It's lying down on my black craft tray with a stray white hair nearby that I keep trying to brush from my phone screen.

The finished weeping blossom tree in all its glory.

It arrived safely in the US to its new home this week and both myself and the recipient couldn't be happier!

It's still needing to be mounted to a base but the tree is finished and standing. It's a September miracle!

Latest tree in progress that nobody is getting to see, including me! Wire wrapping was frustratingly difficult with so many branches getting snagged in the long lengths of wire so had the idea of bagging them as I go.

It's still fiddly but not 'I'm going to launch this into the sun' difficult!

Been working on a suggested idea for the past couple of weeks and neglecting socials (again!) so here's one I made earlier.

It's 13 cms / 5.1 inches in height and it took over 70 individual branches to make. That's a lot of twysting!

Feels kinda redundant making a sunshine yellow tree to add a bit of cheer to dull days when every day has been sunny.

Finally got round to photographing the new trees, this being one of them. Now to pick what colour to go with next!

Feeling the spring vibes and enjoying the warmth from the sun. After a long cold winter it's a welcome change. 🌸

It took so much longer than I'd estimated but sunset heart tree is finished. 🎉

It took another week to find the right base to go with it thanks to my indecision and perfection goals but official pics will be appearing later or tomorrow.

Tree progress so far!

Got completely engrossed in it today after ignoring it all weekend in favour of baking.

Tree is sitting on my trusty black craft lap tray. An oval loaf of freshly baked bread with pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds on top and three half hearted indents on top where it was scored before baking. It's sitting on a parchment lined baking tray on a kitchen worktop. A tip of a bread knife is visible plus a partial view of the scooping end of a ladle as its mandatory to have some homemade soup with freshly baked bread. In my world at least.

Took a while to settle on what the next tree would be after the wisteria then a while after that to feel out what colours to go with.

No idea if it'll translate from what's in my head but going to enjoy making it 💚

Had a doggo day at the beach on Saturday. Lil's first time and she absolutely loved it. Her and Milo were non stop the entire time while their bestie (out of sight) dug some impressive holes looking for a new favourite rock.

Lil has come a long way from being confined with nearly 200 other dogs ❤️‍
Milo and Lily running around at Widemouth Bay. Milo is a smooth haired mostly black collie kelpie cross and is in the foreground running or bouncing forwards while looking to the side of him where Lily is and just a bit behind. Lily or Lil, is a smaller golden collie cross with pointy ears. They are running across the sand with rocks and a grey sky and sea in the background. Lil, a very cute golden collie cross with sticky up ears and in her about to run again stance with her tail up and slightly to the side. She is standing on the sand with smooth rocks in the background. Lil is wearing her deep pink coloured harness with a small light attached to it. Lil having an explore of some of the rocks on the beach, down by the waterline. The waves are crashing out on the sea a fair distance away.

A purple wisteria bead and wire tree with an abundance of hanging branches with pale purple at the top of each one, going into a mid purple then right at the tips, a marginally darker purple shade of seed beads. The wire used is antique copper, a lovely natural brown with patches of darker brown through it. It is sitting on the left side of a rectangular piece of smoothed but not flat edged slate, fixed into place with textured magic sculpt putty which is painted finished with a two tone metallic paint that shimmers in teal electric blue or deep purple depending on how the light hits it. Several amethyst crystals are fixed into place in and around the spiralled tree roots. Background is a grey misty effect. Twysted Roots logo is in the bottom right. A purple wisteria bead and wire tree with an abundance of hanging branches with pale purple at the top of each one, going into a mid purple then right at the tips, a marginally darker purple shade of seed beads. Breath holding time!

Finished tree at the start of the week but it's taken until today to work up to mounting it. Partly because new idea and partly second, third and fourth guessing myself if it works visually.

Gotta love a burst of self doubt after weeks of working on a thing. 🎉

Trying to photograph a young beech tree for inspiration yesterday and Milo is like TAKE A PIC OF MY BUTT!
A sunny blue sky day in the woods. There are copper beach leaves covering the ground and the view is from close to ground level. The middle of the photo is a beech tree sapling with a zig zagging trunk which splits into two branches which fan out with copper leaves still attached to it. There's a moss covered wall at one side and some ivy growing over the fallen leaves with many trees in the background. And right smack bang behind the sapling is Milo, a mostly black kelpie collie cross and perpetual ruiner of photos facing away from me.

Not sure what happened to get an influx of followers recently but hey hello.

I mostly post tree stuff, sometimes finished but currently it's progress pics because I'm working on a bigger one.

I'm autistic (not fascist!) and love the escapism of art, especially when the world sucks beyond belief.
