We did a Visibility Brigade action today over I-287 in central NJ today. All of the NJ groups have been putting up messages to support @mikiesherrill.bsky.social for governor this month. Everything helps.

I started a Visibility Brigade in my area. We use letter panels to spell out messages to drivers during rush hour. There are more than 250 groups nationwide now.

Greetings from the Visibility Brigade of Indivisible Central NJ.
We had our first action today (with a message we selected before the call from VB Headquarters. We had a rush hour message in East Brunswick, reaching people on their way home and heading to the Jersey Shore.

Attended this Visibility protest for May Day, organized by Plainfields Area Indivisible. People were on the pedestrian overpass & at the nearby intersection of US Route 22 in North Plainfield, during afternoon rush from 4:30-6 pm. Lots of honks and fist pumps from passing vehicles!

Current WIP (work in progress): #splitbandanacowl, designed by @lavanyapatricella.bsky.social from her wonderful book Brioche Knitting Workshop (purchased in Rhinebeck, NY). I’m using hand-dyed DK yarns from two of my favorite people: Marianated Yarns (blue-green) & @woolbearers.bsky.social (gold) 🧶

More than 500 people showed up in Metuchen, NJ, a small suburban town north of New Brunswick. Town police estimated 1,000 people.

My second suggestion is the book How to Live by Sarah Bakewell, a biography of the 16th-century essayist Michel d’Eyquem de Montaigne, who wrote about what constitutes a good life.

I have two suggestions

The first is The Bridge of San Luis Rey, a novel by American writer Thornton Wilder, published in 1927.

The closing line:

"There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning."

I don’t know if this counts. My little pot of grape hyacinths decided that frigid weather in December was a good time to bloom.
Don’t know what it will do when spring comes 🙃
