I seriously thought this was a Dune-themed sex toy when I saw this ad. Actually, I couldn't figure out whether or was it not until I actually checked the listing. I guess that's one way to get people to click your ads?

I made a table to visualize it more easily, but I wasn't expecting such a dramatic uptick. I mean, in 2019 it was almost double the year before, then in 2020 it was double that, and then it was almost 7 times as many the next year. It's so wild, esp for such an old band?
Table of posts in the Mayhem category of AO3 There was a modest uptick in 2019 and 2020, then a huge increase in 2021. The numbers were fairly stable in 2022 and 2023. YTD more posts have been made than in any other entire year. Mysterious!

the announcer saw this guy and went "he's not really French!" and I fucking love the idea of some Welsh guy or w/e going to the Paris Olympics dressed up in a stereotypical French guy costume. Is it meant to be insulting? Or is this guy like a weeb, except for France? What a delightful mystery!

Pyrophorus nyctophanus are my new favorite insect. They're beetles that lay their eggs in termite mounds, and then their bioluminescent larvae feast on the termites, which are attracted to light. The infested mounds look like they're covered in stars. It looks so ethereal but it's so metal, love it
