There are lots of reasons I really like doing it this way, and most of them are to do with performance. In particular, it's very memory and cache friendly - my largest track so far uses 0.5MB of memory, and the track data is completely contiguous.

The road is cubic bezier curves. A system of 'checkpoints' with an associated transform, road segment and t value are used to find the correct point to sample. The road collision is an analytic shape, and I use finite differences to calculate a surface normal

I participated in a sleep study, and learned I stop breathing 60 times an hour at night. So I don't die in my sleep someday, I'm fundraising for a CPAP machine!
On October 6th (which is MY BIRTHDAY!!!), from start to finish, I will be playing HALF-LIFE 2!
