Canada’s F-35 saga is a great leverage. Keep dangling the “we might walk to Rafale/Gripen” card forever. It costs Trump nothing to humor us, but it costs Lockheed billions in uncertainty. Drag it out indefinitely, then decide: buy F-35s if can't replace them with 🇪🇺 alternatives.

Trump and his gang continue their successful blitzkrieg against U.S. government institutions. The scary part is not that no one has expected anything good from him for a long time or that everyone is competing in apocalyptic predictions, but that no one knows how far they might go.

Every time Trump voters say, "Well, he's not that much of an idiot," they are no longer trying to find rationality in his actions but merely trying to justify themselves. Though, unsuccessfully every time.

It's not just about Macron. Check the approval ratings of other countries' leaders, and you'll notice the same historic lows. This reflects a deeper issue - the traditional party-based political system and its leadership are broken.
In the history of France’s Fifth Republic, which began in 1958, only Socialist predecessor Francois Hollande was more unpopular with an approval rating that touched 13% in late 2014.
Macron’s Approval Rating Drops to Record Low in Ifop Poll
Emmanuel Macron’s approval rating has fallen to the lowest since he became French president in 2017, according to a poll by Ifop for Le Journal du Dimanche.

We are in trouble, guys. The MAGA hordes who are just being suspended on X by Musk may move here. That's going to be a disaster.

A serious fight is coming up between MAGA and tech bros. So far, it is within X, but will expand soon.

Worth reading
sigh, I wrote about Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's new DOGE initiative, and what the duo's prior statements and experiences (the Twitter takeover, the GOP primary) predict about how they *want* to purge the civil service, compared with what they'll actually be able to do: slate.com/technology/2...
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency Is Both Dumb and Dangerous
The X owner’s “extremely hardcore” approach is going to do a lot more harm than good.

My advice for newcomers to Bluesky: don't rush to follow all the suggested starter packages in various categories all at once. Do it slowly, 1-2 packages per day or two. Give yourself time to evaluate the posts of the subscribed users, otherwise your feed might turn into chaos.
